IFPTE Welcomes Canadian Labour Congress President Bea Bruske to the AFL-CIO Convention
President Matt Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson were among the many American labor leaders to welcome our good friend, and Union Sister, Bea Bruske to Minneapolis, Minnesota this week at the AFL-CIO’s 30th constitutional convention.
President Bruske addressed convention delegates and reinforced the strong and unwavering Solidarity between the Canadian and American labor movements, welcomed remarks that received rousing support from convention delegates. IFPTE’s executive officers commented: President Biggs - “It was an honor to welcome President Bruske here in Minneapolis and have an opportunity to share with her IFPTE’s appreciation for her strong support of our membership, but to also provide her our support as well. IFPTE is proud to be on the front lines of the labor movement fighting and condemning the current President’s attacks on Canadian workers and sovereignty and will continue to do so.” Secretary-Treasurer, Gay Henson – “As a proud affiliate of both the CLC and the AFL-CIO, IFPTE was proud to participate in the CLC convention just last month in which our delegates from across Canada had the opportunity to bond in Solidarity with our Union siblings across sectors and Unions, and we were proud to support President Bruske’s reelection to continue to lead the CLC. IFPTE and the entire labor movement were honored to welcome President Bruske here at the AFL-CIO convention and hear her inspiring speech of Solidarity between our two labor movements. We are thankful to President Bruske for her strong support of IFPTE and our membership.”
