Society/Local 160 Stands Proud at Pride Toronto 2026

The Society of United Professionals/Local 160 (the Society) proudly joined Pride Toronto over the weekend standing alongside over 3 million participants in support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and reaffirming the union's commitment to equity, inclusion, and human rights.

This year’s parade marked only the second time in Pride Toronto’s history that the labour movement marched together as one united contingent. Organized by the Ontario Federation of Labour, the group brought together members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies from more than two dozen affiliated unions and labour organizations, united by the message: In labour, we fight together, we march together, we win together.

Society members were proud to march with fellow workers from across Ontario. The parade was both a celebration of Pride and a reminder that the fight for safe, respectful, and inclusive workplaces continues.

The Society also recognizes and thanks the Ontario Federation of Labour organizers and volunteers whose leadership made the united labour contingent possible. Special recognition goes to Morgan Koch, Chair of the Society’s Pride and Solidarity Committee as well as Chair of the OFL’s Pride and Solidarity Committee, for her leadership and dedication in helping bring labour affiliates together for this historic showing of unity.
