SOLIDARITY ALERT: “You are not alone” – ILWU Message to IFPTE’s Federal Sector Members

IFPTE is honored and humbled to report that International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) International President, Robert Olvera, offered his Union’s SOLIDARITY and support for IFPTE-represented federal sector members as we fight to preserve our jobs and our collective bargaining rights.   

In a letter send to IFPTE today, President Olvera wrote: “to offer our unwavering solidarity to the dedicated workers from IFPTE who have been impacted by the partisan layoffs during the government shutdown,” and that “Like many Americans, I have been appalled by the Administration’s recent threat and subsequent execution of mass firings of federal employees during the government shutdown.”   President Olvera went on to reinforce that “The ILWU stands with IFPTE members and all government workers…We stand ready to raise our voices in protest along with millions of other trade union members across the country…You are not alone in this fight.”
