Steve Pinto Takes the Helm at IFPTE Local 195 – Sworn in as President 

IFPTE Atlantic Area Vice President, Brother Steve Pinto, was officially sworn in as President of IFPTE Local 195 on Thursday.  Joining President Pinto was Brother Melvin Dwyer to serve a second term as Local 195 Vice President, along with ten other Local 195 officers.   

IFPTE Atlantic Area Vice President/Local 196 President, Sean McBride, administered the oath of office, and upwards of fifty IFPTE members, staff, and retirees attended, including Local 195 President-Emeritus, Don Buchanan, and IFPTE International Representative, David LaFemina. 

Pinto, who was Trustee Chair for the Local, commented: “It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to represent the dedicated and hard-working members of Local 195.   The issues facing our membership, including combatting increased healthcare costs, threats to privatization, protecting our pensions, and fighting for fair and equitable pay raises, are my top priorities, and I commit to listening to and respecting the concerns of each and every Local 195 member.  I look forward to working alongside Vice President Dwyer and the entire Local 195 leadership team as we work to deliver gains for our members.”
