TEAM Board Confirms Appointment of Executive Director

TEAM/IFPTE Local 161 is pleased to announce that Carrie Sanderson has been confirmed as permanent as TEAM’s next Executive Director. Carrie was appointed to the role on an interim basis earlier this year, stepping in at a crucial time for the Local, just ahead of its next round of collective agreement (CA) negotiations with the employer. 

Under Carrie’s leadership, TEAM successfully negotiated several improvements to its CA, including competitive general wage increases for members in all years of the agreement. TEAM members voted overwhelmingly to approve the new deal. 

 Carrie brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to supporting TEAM members through the challenges ahead. She has been a Marketing professional and TEAM member for almost 25 years and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba, with a focus in Marketing and Human Resources.  

Prior to joining the TEAM Board in 2021, Carrie was active in the Union as a former Communications Action Representative (CAR), Local Health & Safety Representative, and Bargaining Committee member.  While on the Board, Carrie held the position of Secretary/Treasurer before moving into the Vice President role at the start of her second term in January 2023, and she also participated as a member of the Negotiating team during the 2022 round of collective bargaining.
