Canadian Labour Congress:  Carney Government’s Case for Restricting Workers’ Rights Doesn’t Pass Fact Check

This week, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), of which IFPTE is a proud affiliate, disputed the Carney government’s portrayal of recent labour disputes as evidence of a collective bargaining system in crisis and its claim that greater ministerial intervention would prevent future disruptions.  “Canadians have every reason to expect reliable transportation, functioning supply chains and a strong economy,” said CLC President Bea Bruske. “But there is no evidence that taking away workers’ rights will deliver that stability or prevent future disruptions.”
