CLC Pushes Back Against Federal Interference in Collective Bargaining

Canada’s unions are continuing to pressure the federal government to respect workers’ bargaining rights and stop undermining lawful strike action through repeated interventions under Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code. In a new submission tied to the federal labour code review, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) argues that any reform process must strengthen - not weaken - collective bargaining rights for federally regulated workers.

The statement reflects growing concern across organized labour over the increasing use of government intervention to end or limit strikes, and calls for stronger protections for free and fair collective bargaining in Canada.
