IFPTE Joins Labor Event in Support of Representative Brian Fitzpatrick

l-r: President Biggs, Congressman Fitzpatrick, and Secretary Treasurer Henson

Federal unions, including IFPTE, sponsored and supported an event in honor of a great friend of labor, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania.  The event comes as the House of Representatives enters a more than month-long Summer recess, and as Congressman Fitzpatrick leads the bipartisan effort to overturn the Trump Administration Executive Order eliminating the collective bargaining rights of over 1 million federal employees.

IFPTE President Matt Biggs and Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson, who attended the event, commented:  Biggs said that, “Throughout his career in the House of Representatives, Congressman Fitzpatrick has proven himself to be one of IFPTE’s greatest supporters, and, indeed, one of labor’s greatest supporters, and we need his support now more than ever.” Henson noted that, “Representative Fitzpatrick throws party loyalty to the side and fights for his constituents and working families alike.”

Congressman Fitzpatrick is the Republican co-author of the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, which will overturn the Trump Union-busting order, and was the only House Republican to vote against both the rule and the final bill that ended healthcare and food assistance for tens of millions of Americans, that will result in millions of lost jobs.  THANK YOU, Congressman.
