IFPTE Urges No Vote on Onder Union-Busting and Grothman Job Slashing Amendments to the House NDAA

As the House of Representatives considered HR 8800, the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), IFPTE sent a letter urging all House lawmakers to oppose amendments filed by Representatives Robert Onder (R-MO 03) and Glenn Grothman (R-WI 06) aiming for DOD collective bargaining rights and job cuts, reminding them that, “IFPTE’s history is built on the principle that federal employees, their unions, and a professional merit-based civil service are vital strategic elements that enable America’s national defense.” 

The Onder amendment was not offered for a vote, as it would have failed due to bipartisan House support for restoring DOD bargaining rights in the NDAA. The Grothman amendment failed to be added to the NDAA by a vote of 175-254.
