The Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) held its National Executive Board (NEB) Meeting and Educational Conference September 24-27 in Washington, DC. The theme was “Educate, Organize, Mobilize”. Delegates throughout the country convened for training and discussions focused on GOTV, women’s empowerment, digital strategies, and civic engagement.

During the business session, Shaunna Winton, Treasurer of SPEEA/IFPTE Local 2001, was appointed to represent IFPTE on CLUW’s National Officers Council. IFPTE President Matt Biggs recommended Sister Winton to fill the vacant seat.

President Biggs stated, “We have no doubt that Sister Winton will not only be an exemplary representative on the CLUW board for the members of IFPTE overall and those in SPEEA/Local 2001 in particular, but she will also bring with her a dedication to working alongside all of the CLUW Board members to empower working women and toward moving forward issues of importance necessary to accomplish the goals of CLUW.”
